TwinMed Direct Saves Big Money on Medical Supplies

Friday, February 27th, 2009

Healthcare workers across the country have all noticed how high the prices of medical supplies have risen. This is an especially worrisome problem for those working with the elderly. Benefits are being reduced for some. For those under the age of 65 who need ongoing medical care, insurance benefits have been denied. It seems that the problem just keeps getting worse. Where is the relief?

There doesn’t seem to be a white knight on the horizon that, slashing prices with his sword from the back of his trusty stead, solves the problem of high priced medical supplies. But there is a way to get find medical supplies at prices that won’t break the bank.

Through a little comparison shopping, an online retailer of medical supplies that beats the prices of all 30 top pharmacy chains in America has been found. The company is called TwinMed Direct, and they have been receiving quite a lot of buzz lately. The results of price comparisons were quite shocking. The neighborhood pharmacy’s prices are not as good as you think. Here is what was discovered:

nitrile gloves

, possibly the most used medical supply in the healthcare industry, are sold just about everywhere. Everyone from adults taking care of their parents to doctors in the emergency room must wear Nitrile exam gloves for safety and sanitation purposes. At the number one leading pharmacy chain, Nitrile gloves cost $5.99 per box of 40. At TwinMed Direct, the same gloves cost $4.99 per box of 100.

Wet wipes, also known as adult washcloths, are used for perineal care in babies and the elderly. They clean and soften skin while preventing a myriad of skin problems. The price of  moist wipes at the top two pharmacy retail chains was about $.07 per wipe. At TwinMed Direct, moist wipes cost about $.03 per wipe. That equates to a huge difference in the long run.

The last item compared was a digital blood pressure monitor. Keeping tabs on blood pressure is extremely important in healthcare. If blood pressure is too high or too low, something needs to be done about it as soon as possible. At TwinMed Direct, the digital blood pressure monitor cost $33.25. At the leading retailer, the nearly identical blood pressure monitor cost $74.99. Now that’s a huge price difference!

Career In Medical Supply Sales

Wednesday, February 25th, 2009

The high demand for individuals to fill jobs in the medical field is not brought about by new job opportunities.
The demand is actually just fueled by the need for excellent health care services needed by a growing and prospering population.
Truth of the matter is, there are no new career offerings in the medical field. There are just more opportunities available now for well established jobs in the medical field and one such example are medical supply sales careers.
Medical supply sales careers are not a new thing. In fact these types of jobs have been present for a long time. The most common type of medical supply sales job is that of the medical representative.
A medical sales representative is employed by a pharmaceutical company and it is these sales reps job to call on physicians and pay them visits to give them free samples of the drugs that the pharmaceutical company carries.
Medical sales representatives are employed by pharmaceutical companies as a means to deliver targeted marketing to physicians who have the power to prescribe these medications to their patients. This way, pharmaceutical companies can push the sales of their products through the doctors that prescribe them to the patients that need them.
This type of sales tactic is especially successful for marketing and pushing the sales of prescription drugs. This is because mass marketing of prescription drugs is not possible and the best way to push sales of these is by targeting the physicians that can choose to prescribe them to their patients.
Getting into this type of job is especially promising, lucrative and satisfying for those who have an inclination for sales. If you don’t have any sales experience or you’re not sure if a career in sales is for you, don’t despair. A medical supply sales career may still be for you.
Sales people possess excellent communications skills focused on the ability to persuade and convince others into a desired action. In the case of the medical representative of a pharmaceutical company, the sales person needs to convince the physician to choose their type of medication over the rest.
To do this, the sales rep needs very good relationship building and management skills. Most medicines in the same category have the same attributes and efficacy so sometimes, it really all boils down to the skill of the medical rep to sell his products effectively.
Given this, particularly good medical sales reps are compensated very well through actual financial perks but also through fringe benefits like a good service car and vacation and leisure packages. This is why many people consider getting into this type of job and decide to stay and advance in their careers here.
These days though, sales careers in medicine are not only confined to sales reps from different pharmaceutical companies trying to sell different prescription and non-prescription drugs to physicians.
Medical supply sales careers are more encompassing than that these days as different outfits need more and more individuals to join their dynamic workforce to help push the trial and sales of different medical supplies to different health care facilities.
Medical supply sales careers are now not only offered by pharmaceutical companies but by different medical and health care companies that have good products to sell through targeted sales tactics.

Diabetic Medical Supply-What You Need to Know About the Suppliers

Saturday, February 21st, 2009

In todayâ??s world, there is a great need for medical attention for diabetes.

This has resulted to evolution of many diabetic medical suppliers. It is therefore necessary that you get to know more about these suppliers. It is also important that you learn how to check for counterfeit medicine and original medicine.

Renata Nyleve Editor of the “Free Diabetic Testing Supplies” website — http://www.FreeDiabeticTestingSupplies.net — pointed out;

â??â?¦When you are selecting the supplier, it is essential that you check if he has the medication required. Once you are sure they have that product you can now check the affordability of this product. This is because not all the suppliers offer diabetic medication at the same costâ?¦â?

The company that is providing this medication should be in a position to advice the customers on the use of the drugs. That is why it is good to specifically look for that company that has employed a professional on this area to offer consultation. The best supplier will be willing to give you information on diabetics and also inform you about the type of medication available and how you can control it.

The best supplier is the one who will at least make the delivery of the product so that you do not have to waste your time going to the pharmaceutical company. You should look for the suppliers who will not charge you for any co-payment. You need also to free yourself from making insurance claims now and then, look for a company which will not require you to do that.

â??â?¦You can order the medication online and this also gives you the opportunity to select the company that offers the best prices. You need not tire yourself walking from one chemist to another just to seek these drugs. Since someone living with diabetics suffers a lot in life, the best diabetic medical supply companies will always ensure that they offer quality medicine that will help them. Their mission is always to provide medication to the patient and offer quality consultation services to them when need arisesâ?¦â? added R. Nyleve.

Medical Supplies. Buying online Vs. buying offline

Thursday, February 19th, 2009

I run a business myself so I know that when it comes to ordering or re-ordering medical supplies, the process can get quite aggravating and very frustrating at time. Most people wise up and will find a store that offers everything they need for their specific business – in this case nursing home supplies and medical supplies. There are stores offline that offer these products in one store, but they are also more expensive. Wouldn’t you rather have convenience AND price? When shopping online it’s not unheard of to find stores that not only offer one stop shopping, but they will also offer better prices, bulk options and wholesale options.

All of these variables are going to allow you to literally get more for your money. It doesn’t matter if it’s a popular brand name product, or not. Or if it’s a special item, or not. If the store offers it, chances are you will save money on it. And best of all since its one store offering all the products you need anyway, you are also going to save yourself a lot of time once ordering comes around again! Now all you will need is your list of supplies and a checklist.

Once you go on the site you will very easily be able to start adding products right to you “cart”, and once you are ready to check out, you will be asked to enter in a business license number or wholesaler license. I’ve found about 10% of sites online that do offer wholesale do NOT need any kinds of proof from you that you are a real business or company. The other 90% will need some kind of proof from you have it be your driver’s license number, business license or your bulk wholesaler license.

I’ve been told that the reasoning behind this is because a site might offer supreme prices as is, but they will offer “special” discounts to bulk and wholesalers – obviously a wholesaler is a person that would buy and sell these products themselves in their own store. Well, if they offered the wholesale price to just anyone that “walked” into the store, then everyone would get the special prices! Also, I do believe there is something else to do with the way your government is set up with purchasing in your specific location.

If you aren’t sure if a site takes a license or not, simply email them or call them and ask them! Most of these sites online that sell any kind of products or more specifically nursing home supplies and medical supplies are more than happy to answer whatever questions you may have about these kinds of things along with product info, suggestions and recommendations for specific products and more!

Give it a try and see how it works out for your business! I can almost guarantee that you will end up saving a lot of money and a lot of time! Even if it does take you a little more time to pick out products, when it comes to medical supplies it’s going to be less frustrating and less stressful!
